There are several choices of equipment for excavation work. The choice mainly depends on the job to be done. However, one of the most popular items of equipment on a job site is the rubber-tire tractor-mounted backhoe. Operators of a backhoe need to be aware that they are operating a potentially dangerous piece of equipment. • Day begins with a preoperational inspection including fluid checks, walk around inspections, and machine warm up before operation
• Prior to shutting down machine, ensure that the front-end loader bucket is safely level to the ground
• Make sure to park machine on dry level ground
